No-exam life insurance
Understanding who qualifies for fast-track underwriting, the process mechanics, and what differs if you don't qualify.
Most carriers provide accelerated underwriting: for eligible candidates within defined parameters, companies issue decisions via application data, pharmaceutical records, and driving history rather than ordering a paramedical exam. Determinations can be made within hours. The quotes here list whether exams are required, potentially required, or not required per product.
What it changes
Forgoing an exam doesn't bypass thorough underwriting. Carriers validate your responses, and policies granted on false information can be voided during the initial two-year period. Additional testing may still be requested if the carrier's findings suggest concerns; you determine then whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Applicants typically under age 60 seeking amounts at or below the carrier's accelerated underwriting limit, with no serious health conditions and zero tobacco use within the past 12 months qualify. Carriers may accept results from a recent physician visit (including bloodwork) rather than requiring a fresh exam.
If an exam is required, it's typically a 20- to 30-minute session conducted by a paramedic at your Brea-area home or workplace at no charge. For applicants in good health, exam results frequently lead to rate improvements, so the exam isn't necessarily unfavorable.
